Steel Grades and Performance Requirements
In the manufacturing of construction machinery cutting blades, material selection is a critical factor determining product performance. The industry currently predominantly utilizes the following three categories of steel:
High-Hardness Wear-Resistant Steel (e.g., NM400):
• Brinell hardness: 360–450 HB
Yield strength ≥900 MPa
Tensile strength ≥1100 MPa
Typical applications: Heavy-duty conditions like excavator bucket teeth and loader cutting edges
Alloy Steel (e.g., Chromium-Vanadium Steel):
Contains alloying elements like Cr and V
Hardness HRC 50-55
Combines wear resistance and toughness
Typical applications: Bulldozer blades, grader blades
High-Manganese Steel:
Mn content: 11-14%
Excellent work-hardening properties
Outstanding impact resistance
Typical applications: Mining machinery blades, crusher tooth plates
