The following is the standard process flow for the manufacturing of bucket teeth in the construction machinery industry, integrating modern industrial manufacturing technology and key points of quality control
I. Raw Material Preparation
Material selection : Alloy structural steels such as 40CrMnMo and 35CrMo are adopted, with a carbon content of 0.35%-0.45% to balance toughness and hardness.
Preprocessing :
The spectrometer detects the elemental composition to ensure that alloy elements such as Mn, Cr, and Mo meet the standards.
Internal defects are detected by ultrasonic flaw detection, and the weight error of the sawing machine cutting the blank is ≤±0.5%.
Edge and corner blunting treatment reduces forging stress concentration.
Ii. Forging and forming
Heating control :
The three-stage heating of the natural gas ring furnace (650℃→850℃→1150℃) has a core temperature difference of no more than ±15℃.
Die forging process :
Pre-forging to eliminate internal stress → precision forging to shape the tooth profile → final forging and compaction (tooth tip density reaches 7.8g/cm³);
Closed compound extrusion: The upper die is pressed down to force the metal in three directions to fill the cavity and eject the formed part.
The tonnage of the dedicated hydraulic press should be no less than 800 tons (commonly used are 5000-ton class equipment).
Iii. Heat treatment Strengthening
Residual heat normalizing : Utilizing the residual heat after forging to refine grains in a roller hearth furnace;
Quenching : Graded cooling of water-based polymer quenching fluid, 120 ° c/s at the tooth tip and 80 ° c/s at the root;
Tempering : Three-stage holding in a well-type furnace (280 ° c /450 ° c /580 ° C for 90 minutes each) to achieve a gradient hardness of HRC52-55 on the surface and HRC38-42 in the core.
Four. Precision Machining
Key dimensions for CNC milling control: Installation hole tolerance ±0.02mm, positioning groove symmetry 0.05mm.
The root groove is formed by splitting and extruding with a wedge-shaped punch, reducing the difficulty of demolding.
V. Surface Treatment
Shot peening strengthening: Fatigue strength is enhanced by impact of 0.3mm cast steel shot for 8 minutes.
Wear-resistant coating: Supersonic flame spraying of 0.15mm tungsten carbide layer (HV≥1200).
Vi. Quality Verification
Three-coordinate measuring : full-size scan tooth tip Angle deviation;
Destructive test :
3-ton heavy hammer 1-meter drop hammer impact test;
There was no substrate corrosion in the 720-hour salt spray test.
500-hour installation simulation without fracture.
Industry application tips : For mining conditions, it is recommended to adopt the bimetallic composite process (base + surfacing layer), and the stripping wheel bucket excavator is suitable for the titanium-containing wear-resistant bucket tooth formula; The bucket teeth of small equipment can be recycled from scrap steel such as anchor chains through forging and regeneration, but the oil quenching process needs to be controlled to prevent cracking.
