Product Description
How to choose the appropriate chain specifications for construction machinery?
The selection of chain specifications suitable for construction machinery requires a comprehensive consideration of core factors such as load, environment, transmission accuracy and reliability. The specific selection steps are as follows:
1. Key specification matching
Pitch and roller size
Pitch : It determines the smoothness of transmission. For heavy loads, a larger pitch should be selected (for example, the pitch of a 20A chain used in cranes is 31.75mm).
Roller diameter : affects wear resistance. For example, the roller diameter of 16B chain is 15.88mm.
Ultimate load verification
The working load should be lower than the ultimate tensile strength of the chain and a safety margin should be reserved (it is recommended to be ≥3 times)
Light load (<3kN) : 033/04B chain
Heavy load (>100kN) : 24B/32B chain (ultimate load 250.4kN).
Rows and width
Single-row chain: Light to medium load (such as conveyors)
Double/triple row chains: In heavy-load scenarios, the power carrying capacity is enhanced (double row chains reach 1.75 times that of single row chains).
Iv. Special Scenario Handling
Environmental adaptability
High-temperature/corrosive environment: Select alloy steel material + surface treatment (such as galvanizing).
Gravel site: The tire protection chain should cover the entire tire surface, and the lock buckle should be designed with impact resistance.
Accuracy and lifespan
Lifting mechanism: Select a low elongation chain (e.g., S6 grade elongation ≤1%).
Lubrication and maintenance: Non-oil seal chains need to be lubricated every 300 to 500 kilometers. Regularly check the tension with a chain caliper (replace if it exceeds 0.75%).
Selection traps to avoid :
The pitch deviation between the sprocket and the chain should be ≤1%; otherwise, the risk of tooth skipping is high.
Avoid mixing A and B series to prevent abnormal meshing.
