As a high-quality carbon structural steel, 50Mn's core advantages are mainly reflected in the following three aspects:
⚙️ 1. Excellent mechanical properties
High strength and high wear resistance
The tensile strength is ≥645MPa, and the yield strength is ≥390MPa. With a manganese content of 0.7% to 1%, the hardness and wear resistance of the material are significantly enhanced. It is particularly suitable for manufacturing high-load wear-resistant components such as gear shafts, mandshafts, and friction discs .
Toughness equilibrium
Elongation ≥13%, impact toughness ≥39J/cm². It maintains structural integrity when subjected to impact loads and is suitable for dynamic load scenarios such as crankshafts of construction machinery and train shafts.
2. Excellent heat treatment properties
Outstanding hardenability
Compared with ordinary 50# steel, manganese element optimizes hardenability. Parts with a cross-section of ≤80mm (such as mandshafts and connecting rods) can achieve uniform hardening, ensuring the consistency of overall performance of large components.
The heat treatment strengthening effect is remarkable
After quenching at 820℃ and tempering at 550℃, the strength, hardness and elasticity are simultaneously enhanced. High-frequency quenching is more suitable for precision components (such as automotive crankshafts).
