     Guide to Selecting Hydraulic Oil Filters

      The hydraulic system is the "blood circulation system" of construction machinery, and the selection of its filters directly affects the service life of the equipment. This paper compares the filtration accuracy (β value ≥200 is preferred), dirt-holding capacity (suggested ≥0.1g/cm³) and pressure difference characteristics (the initial pressure difference should be < 0.02MPa) of three mainstream filter elements: paper, metal mesh and glass fiber. It is particularly pointed out that in the low-temperature working condition of -30℃, a spin-on filter with heating function should be selected. The measured data of a certain excavator manufacturer shows that correct selection can reduce the failure rate of pumps and valves by 47%.
