The connection method between the disc hub and the driven disc

The connection between the disc hub (i.e., the driven disc hub) and the driven disc is mainly achieved through the following mechanical structure, with the core being the riveting clamping and spline fit mechanism:

Structural integration: Hub embedded in the driven disk body ‌

The driven disc is composed of the driven disc body, friction plates and disc hub. The hub is embedded in the body through a torsional shock absorber system, and the two are fixedly connected by rivets. The torsional shock absorber disc is riveted to the driven steel plate and the disc hub is clamped in the middle to form a rigid whole to transmit torque and buffer vibration ‌.

This design ensures that the hub, as the transmission core, works in coordination with the friction plates to achieve smooth transmission of engine power to the transmission.

Spline connection achieves shaft-hub fit ‌

The inner hole of the disc hub is equipped with spline grooves, which precisely mesh with the splines of the input shaft of the transmission. Spline connection provides high centering accuracy and torque resistance, and supports axial sliding during power transmission (such as shift disengagement) ‌.

The spline types are mainly rectangular or involute. Their advantages include uniform force distribution in the tooth grooves and small stress concentration, making them suitable for frequent sliding dynamic conditions ‌.

Separation and joining mechanism ‌

When the clutch is engaged, the pressure plate presses the disc hub against the flywheel, and the disc hub drives the input shaft to rotate through splines. When separating, the fork pushes the hub slide groove to move axially, disengaging from the contact of the pressure plate and interrupting the power ‌.

The spring damping system of the torsional shock absorber further optimizes the connection stability and reduces the transmission shock ‌.

Overall, the hub and the driven disk are integrated into the body through riveting and clamping, and rely on the dynamic fit of splines and shafts to ensure efficient power transmission and adaptability to working conditions ‌.
