Suggestions on Standards for Welding between Tooth Seat and Steel Plate

1、Weld Preparation

1.1、Strictly clean the paint, rust, oil stains, dust, moisture and other impurities on the welding area between the tooth seat and the steel plate and the surrounding surface before welding.

1.2、Preheat before welding, use a gas cutting gun to preheat the tooth seat and steel plate in the welding area and the surrounding 100-200mm range to 150-220 ℃, and keep them warm for 15 minutes.

1.3、Before welding, the welding rod needs to be baked at 350 ℃ for 2 hours or more, or according to the baking specifications specified in the welding rod manual. The welding wire does not need to be baked.

1.4、The strength of welding rods (wires) adopts the principle of low configuration. Generally, corresponding low hydrogen alkaline welding rods are selected based on 80% of the strength grade of the steel plate, and the strength grade of the steel plate generally does not exceed 70kg.

2、Welding Requirements

2.1、Select low current and low heat input for multi-layer and multi pass welding.

2.2、After each layer is welded, a round headed hammer should be used to thoroughly remove the slag before next welding. If cracks or other defects are found, they should be removed before welding.

2.3、Reference Settings

Heat input:(1.5-2.1)kJ/cm

Electrical parameters and welding wire reference:

Current:(280-320)A

Voltage:(28-34)V

Welding wire:ø 1.2mm, 50 kg grade low hydrogen alkaline welding wire.

2.4、When the ambient temperature is less than 5 ℃ or the humidity is greater than 70%, the preheating temperature should be increased by 27 ℃.

2.5、When the temperature of the welded component is ≤ 5 ℃, no material type or thickness should be welded.

2.6、All materials within the welding area and the surrounding range of 100-200mm must be within the specified preheating temperature range.

3、Welding Insulation

After welding, use insulation cotton to cover the welded parts for insulation, allowing the parts to slowly cool at ≤ 55 ℃/h.If the ambient temperature is ≤ 5 ℃ or there is no insulation cotton quilt, refer to the preheating method before welding, heat again for 2 hours of insulation, and then cool with natural air.
